It's the end of March, but it still feels like Winter.

Unfortunately, it is still pretty cold here in Kansas. A couple of weeks ago we had a day or two in the mid 70's and we stayed outside all day long. It snowed on Sunday, but melted yesterday. I think this weekend it might warm up a bit, but it is only in the 40's today. I am SO ready for Spring! Hudson absolutely LOVES to be outside. He goes to the sliding glass door and pats on it because he wants to go out on the deck. My little Hudson is now 15 months old. Such a big boy now. He sleeps through the night. We had a little stretch last month where he had some trouble sleeping because he was teething. He goes down between 7:30 and 8:00 and sleeps til about 6:30 every morning. If we are lucky, we will sleep until 7:00. Hudson is still napping two times a day. His first nap in the morning is about 2 hours after he wakes up. He sleeps about an hour. That is when we try and get all of our homeschool work accomplished. Or most of it, anyway. He normally eats turkey and cheese for lunch. That is his favorite. He takes an afternoon nap and sleeps about an hour and a half to 2 hours. He is a great sleeper. I just lay him in his bed(which is still in our room) and I typically don't hear another sound.
Hudson doesn't talk as much as Ava and Roman did at this age. He just doesn't seem interested in talking. He understands everything we say though. He is very smart. The words he does say are: mama, nana, boof (when he sees a dog), "ah done" = all done, bye-bye, ball, juice, cheese. He makes a car sound when he sees a car. He makes a blowing sounds in the morning when he wants eggs. He does this because we always blow on the eggs when they are hot. When you ask him he will point to his eyes, nose, mouth, belly button, feet. He will stick out his tongue if you ask him to. He gets in the cabinet to get cereal and points to certain foods he wants. He will also shake his head no when he doesn't want something. He has 8 teeth in the front and he just cut two more in the back.
Roman and Ava go to Grace Christian Academy on Tuesdays. They get to have music, computers, Spanish, Science, PE, recess, lunch, etc... They really enjoy it, although Ava has been going through a phase where she has difficulty saying good-bye to me. It is very dramatic when I drop her off. She always comes skipping out at the end of the day and is so happy. Roman really enjoys it too. He just turned 5 in February but he has been in the Kindergarten class since September. He has always seemed older than his age. Roman has been doing Kindergarten curriculum all year. He knows so much! He is doing addition and subtraction. He is doing good on reading. Ava is also very smart and breezes through her studies. She complains about doing her work a lot. It is tough for me because I see how smart she is and how easy it is for her. She has no reason to complain. We go round and round about this. There are good days and bad days. A good day is when she cheerfully completes her work. Yesterday there were tears and pouting.
Roman is still very obsessed with Star Wars. He got a Star Wars dictionary book for his birthday and he literally looks at it every day. He has gotten into playing video games too. He plays his Nintendo DS and Wii a lot. He got a basketball goal for his birthday and on nice days he loves to play basketball outside.
Ava loves to read books and she loves to be read to. Actually, all three of them LOVE books and nothing thrills me more. Ava is starting to read small chapter books.
Paul has been on a job in Brookside that will just not end. It has gone on FOREVER. So, he has been working very long hours lately. The days are long for me. Being a mom is tough sometimes....but very rewarding. I love my babies and I am so thankful I get to be at home with them.
